With the sudden and unfortunate demise of Senator Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly and the need to fill a vacuum that nature abhors; our 1999 Constitution (as amended) provides for replacement and the search for who occupies the seat has earnestly begun.
Thus the announcement of the epochal entry of the Ihembosi born successful business man Chief Chukwuebuka Onunkwo into the Anambra South senatorial race under the flagship of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the corresponding barrage of endorsements, acclamations, applause and ovations cutting across all party lines and affiliations from all the local governments that make up the Anambra South Senatorial District is sending shivers down the spines of the motley of opposing political parties across the state.
Chief Chukwuebuka Onunkwo is a man in whom leadership and kingship traits was divinely ordained as well as wisdom and human compassion imparted in him from the day of his birth. Chief Chukwuebuka Onunkwo is a multiple award winner in almost all spheres of human endeavors. Many of the APGA delegates who confided in me expressed great optimism that if he emerges the winner of the party primaries and gets the party ticket, the task of mobilizing and delivering him at the general elections will be an easy one because Chief Chukwuebuka Onunkwo is coming with a lot of good will, political sagacity, wealth of experience and depth of knowledge of legislative business as well as a deserved reputation as an accomplished philanthropist and grassroots emancipator par excellence. (6) Liasing with the state government and other stakeholders to secure the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by the federal government to ensure return of peace and normalcy in our region.
Indeed there is no doubt that Chief Chukwuebuka Onunkwo will not only surmount the numerous challenges ahead of him should he get the ticket but also win the general elections of the party due to the overwhelming support of tens of thousands of his loyalists who are ready to vote for him to be elected as a Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria .This is a political titan whom we have closely observed for over two decades accumulating the required political sagacity, professional erudity, intellectual sagacity and legislative alacrity to lobby his colleagues and other stakeholders in order to deliver on his mandate to his beloved people.
