The Zamfara state governor, Dauda Lawal, has assured the corps members deployed to the state of his administration’s determination to ensure their security and welfare.
The governor gave the assurance at the swearing in ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 corps members held at the NYSC temporary orientation camp, UBEC training centre in Gusau Friday.
Governor Lawal, who was represented by the permanent secretary, Ministry of Youth Development, Alhaji Nasiru Galadima, said he would provide the necessary needs to make corps members’ stay in the state memorable and convenient.
“My administration will continue to partner with the National Youth Service Corps to ensure that the state derives maximally the benefits of this lofty programme,” he said.
He enjoined them to take every segment of the orientation course “seriously and specifically pay attention to the lectures” on their immediate environment for them to get first-hand knowledge of the state.
In his opening remarks, the state coordinator, Muhammad Lawan Ahmad, urged corps members to be good ambassadors and to desist from committing any form of social vices that could damage their reputation during their stay in the state.
