KANO – Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf on Monday made a public show of affection towards his godfather, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on his 68th birthday, effectively silencing rumors of a rift between them.

The soft spoken Kano state chief executive in a heartfelt tribute published in a choice national dailies, Yusuf acknowledged Kwankwaso’s profound impact on his political trajectory, underscoring the enduring significance of their mentor-protégé bond.

Consequently, Yusuf’s congratulatory message lauded Kwankwaso’s outstanding leadership and the breadth of his political legacy, spanning the length and breadth of Nigeria.

In a glowing tribute by Sanusi Ahmad Bature Dawakin-Tofa, spokesperson to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, hailed Senator Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso as a distinguished mentor and principal, whose remarkable leadership has inspired and empowered millions of leaders in various aspects of human pursuit.

According to the Governor, “In the 38 years I’ve known and worked with you. I’ve picked up so many valuable life lessons and experiences. You are indeed an embodiment of honesty, dedication and service to people.

“Your political philosophy has impacted communities, inspired quality leaders, and contributed profoundly to humanity. You are indeed undisputable force in Nigerian polity and master of Northern politics.

“In the journey to serving humanity, you have occupied positions, including Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Governor of Kano State, Minister of Defence, Special Envoy to Darfur and Somalia, Senator of the Federal Republic, and Presidential Candidate of our great party, the NNPP in 2023 general elections.

“On behalf of my humble self, family, government the good people of Kano state, I wish you more years of service to humanity in Nigeria and even beyond,” the statement read.
