The minister of information and national orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has assured Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver on all his campaign promises.
The minister stated this Thursday night while briefing journalists after a meeting with presidential media aides in Abuja.
The minister said although the reforms are difficult, “they are aimed at ensuring that Nigeria reach its destination of prosperity that the president talks about all the time.”
Idris again appealed to Nigerians to give the President more time, adding that the president is determined to ensuring that all the promises he made to Nigerians are kept.
He said: “All over the world, reforms are very difficult, it is not perculiar to Nigeria but the president is very focus and determined to ensuring that all the promises he made to Nigerians are kept.
“We are on the right track and we are also seeing that the the reform are in the way that we want them to go.
“We appeal to Nigerians once again to give the President more time and in no time from now, the gains will be obvious for all to see.
“Some of this reforms and tasks that Mr. President has undertaken are not easy. Some of these reforms should have been started decades ago but I as I have said before, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver on his campaign promises to Nigerians.”
Speaking on disruption of electricity to some parts of northern Nigeria, the minister said power has been restored to over 70 percent of the areas affected, assuring that by Sunday power would be fully restored to all the areas affected.
“On the issue of disruption of power to northern parts of the country, as you are all aware, the president has dispatched the minister of power to the area to ensure restoration of power to that part of the country.
“I am happy to say as you all know, the team working on that has achieved appreciable success.
“Over 70 percent of that has been achieved now and we do hope that by Sunday we would have power fully restored to all parts that are affected.”
