Leicester Part Ways With Manager, Steve Cooper, After 6th EPL Loss

November 24, (THEWILL) – Leicester City have dismissed manager Steve Cooper following a challenging start to their English Premier League campaign.

The decision comes in the aftermath of their 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at the King Power Stadium, which marked their sixth loss of the season.

The East Midlands club, currently positioned 16th in the EPL table, have managed only two victories from their opening 12 fixtures.

Cooper, who arrived at Leicester during the summer transfer window to replace Enzo Maresca, departs with his team sitting precariously two points above the relegation zone.

In an official statement, the club confirmed that Assistant Manager Alan Tate and First Team Coach and Analyst Steve Rands would also be leaving their positions.

The training responsibilities will transfer to First Team Coach Ben Dawson, with support from Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes while the recruitment process for a permanent replacement takes place.

The timing of Cooper’s departure follows a period of disappointing results since Leicester’s return to the top flight.

Their most recent setback came against Chelsea, managed by former Leicester boss Maresca, in what proved to be Cooper’s final match in charge of the Foxes.

The club’s hierarchy have indicated their intention to appoint a replacement promptly, with the team facing crucial fixtures in the coming weeks.
