The minister of budget and economic planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, has described late Abdullahi Fodio as a fountain of knowledge whose scholarly works lives on even after his death.
He made the disclosure in Birnin Kebbi during the Shiek Abdullahi Fodio lecture held at the presidential lodge, Bagudu said that present scholars and leaders should follow the teachings of the famous shiek for better and sound leadership ” i was born in Gwandu the home town of the great sheik and because of my passion for him as a governor then i renovated his mosque and tomb to the standard”.
Speaking further, the minister said that insecurity has existed even during their time but tamed just like the Tinubu government is taming insecurity through onslaught on armed groups and economic rejuvenation that will soon bear fruits, all the present government requires is patience from the citizenry as good reforms takes a little time.
The former governor also commended governor Idris for his giant development projects and for even touching the ones he left behind while on the saddle which are evidence of continuity in the art of governance in Kebbi state.
Bagudu who welcomed monarchs from different part of Nigeria described the event as unprecedented in the history of the state.
The event which ended yesterday with horse racing competition was attended by prominent personalities from all walks of life to witness the rebirth famous Gwandu cultural festival.
