Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state, Wednesday, laid the foundation stones for the State High Court and State House of Assembly complexes, part of an ambitious Three-Arms Zone initiative.

The projects, hailed as transformative, symbolise the independence and collaboration of the executive, legislative, and judicial arms of government.

Speaking during the unveiling, Governor Yahaya expressed pride in the historic significance of the projects.

“This milestone reflects our administration’s steadfast commitment to strengthening Gombe State’s governance structure. For 28 years, our state has lacked such a comprehensive effort to provide a befitting environment for our civil and public servants,” he stated.

The Three-Arms Zone initiative also encompasses the ongoing construction of a state secretariat complex, designed to unify governance operations under one strategic hub.

The governor emphasised the legacy these projects will leave, stating, “Today, we are laying the foundation for robust governance infrastructure that will serve generations to come.”

Highlighting his administration’s achievements since 2019, Governor Yahaya detailed progress in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture.

He underscored efforts to improve rural-urban connectivity through road projects, enhance food security with agricultural support, and ensure access to quality healthcare and education across the state.

Governor Yahaya also reaffirmed his dedication to advancing the autonomy of the legislature and judiciary.

“These two institutions are the pillars of democracy and justice. Providing them with world-class facilities underscores our belief in their sanctity and our commitment to strengthening governance structures,” he said.

He said that the State High Court Complex is valued at N14.93 billion, while the State Assembly Complex comes at N14.05 billion, totaling N28.98 billion.

“Contracts for these projects were awarded to Datum Nigeria Limited and Boums Multinational Concepts Limited, both renowned for their expertise and quality delivery.

Governor Yahaya called for professionalism and adherence to standards, urging stakeholders to support the contractors in ensuring timely execution.
