Radisson Hotel Group, a global leader in the hospitality industry, has awarded Park Inn by Radisson Serviced Apartments Lagos Victoria Island with the prestigious Quality Accelerators Award for the third quarter of 2024. This recognition highlights the hotel’s remarkable improvement in quality standards among all Radisson hotels worldwide.
The certificate, signed by Radisson’s Global President and Chief Operating Officer, Chema Basterrechea, acknowledges Park Inn Lagos Victoria Island for achieving the biggest quality improvement, with an impressive growth in Guest Review Index (GRI) of 8.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
Rita Opiah, General Manager of Park Inn Lagos Victoria Island, expressed her gratitude and credited the team for this achievement. “This is an honour for all of us at Park Inn by Radisson Lagos Victoria Island. Teamwork is the secret that makes common people achieve uncommon results,” she said. Opiah praised her team for their dedication, which she believes led to the hotel earning this recognition.
This marks the first time a Park Inn by Radisson brand within the Radisson Hotel Group has received such an award.
Rita Opiah, a seasoned professional with nearly two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, joined Radisson in 2018. She successfully led one of the fastest hotel transitions and openings in Africa. As General Manager, she now oversees the hotel’s daily operations and manages a team of over 100 employees. Under her leadership, the hotel is also undergoing a multi-million-naira upgrade, which is progressing rapidly. Opiah is also notable for being the first Nigerian woman to hold the General Manager position in the Radisson Hotel Group.
Radisson Hotel Group operates more than 1,380 hotels and 227,310 rooms in 95 countries worldwide, making it one of the largest hotel chains by room count.
