PDP Faction Swears In New Chairman, Officials In Katsina

The political crisis rocking the Katsina State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), took a new dimension on Friday as a new faction of the party emerged.

The faction, led by Senator Yakubu Lado, inaugurated a new elected Party Chairman, Alhaji Nura Amadi Kurfi, alongside other officials.

The inauguration took place at the PDP state secretariat in Katsina.

Kurfi praised the national leadership of the PDP and Senator Lado for leading the party to victory in the 2023 general elections in the State.

He highlighted main areas of focus to include unity, law and order, internal democracy, and a level playing field for the 2027 elections.

This comes after another faction led by Mustapha Inuwa sought legal redress over alleged exclusion of its members in the state congresses.

The Lado-led faction had conducted congresses from ward to state level.
