AKURE – Former Deputy Governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state, Honourable Agboola Ajayi, has assured the people of the state that his party would put in its best to ensure that the November 16 off-circle governorship election in the state is not rigged.

He stated this while addressing the people in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state during his ongoing campaign tour of the state in preparation for the poll. 

Allaying the fear that the election would be rigged, the PDP candidate urged the people to go out en masse on the election day and vote for him encouraging them not to be afraid.

The PDP candidate, who told the people to protect their vote, assured them that on the part of his party, everything would be done to prevent any attempt to tamper with the results of the election.

Ajayi said: “Nobody can rig this coming gubernatorial election as everything will be done to forestall such an action from anybody or group of persons.

“I want implore you to come out in your large numbers on election day and vote for PDP, just be vigilant and protect your votes right from your polling units.” 

As part of his goals if elected the governor of the state, Ajayi promised to construct a dry port at Ore before the end of his first term with a view to enhancing economic activities in the commercial centre.

According to him, his economic programmes would engender unprecedented transformation of the town to a smart city and commercial hub.

He also reassured the people of his commitment to providing free healthcare services for the aged and children, as well as enhancing security for infrastructure and social development.

The Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, who accompanied the PDP candidate on the campaign tour, said November 16 gubernatorial poll in Ondo State is a turning point for the people and the state.

He urged the people to vote for PDP, assuring them that Ajayi would explore the natural resources in the state to take them out of poverty to prosperity.
