Ikorodu City continued their impressive run of form in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) as they held Niger Tornadoes to a 0-0 draw at Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna, at the weekend.
Ikorodu City interim coach, Nurudeen Aweroro, recalled Chinonso Chineme to the starting line up as he led the team in front. James Faith continued in goal while Olatunji Abdulmalik, Oyedokun Tosin, and Ayemwenre Rivio started as a midfield trio.
Niger Tornadoes started out on the front foot as they sought to take advantage of the home support and their familiarity with the playing surface to take control of the game. Within the first 30 minutes, they had created multiple chances, however, James Faith pulled off astonishing saves to keep the game level.
The Oga Boys (Ikorodu City) started gaining some possession in the second half. They looked more settled and created their own chances, however, they were unable to break the deadlock.
