Lagos Police Probe Video Of Officer In Altercation With Elderly Woman

The Police Command in Lagos State yesterday said it had begun an investigation into circumstances leading to the altercation captured on video between a police officer and an elderly woman.

The Command’s Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development in a statement yesterday in Lagos. He said investigations revealed that the incident took place in Alagbado area of the state in the first week of September.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a video circulating on social media showed an officer inside an elderly woman’s car manhandling her.

According to Hundeyin, the police inspector and his supervising deputy superintendent of Police have been brought in for questioning while the Complaint Response Unit has established contact with the woman in the video.
