Lagos Govt Arrests Five Individuals For Traffic Obstruction

Lagos State Government on Monday arrested several individuals, during a birthday celebration in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The celebrant, event planner, musician, and others were arrested for causing traffic obstruction and environmental nuisance.

In a statement on X, Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab explained that the individuals were apprehended for blocking Raymond Njoku Road in Southwest Ikoyi.

The individuals arrested are: the Event Planner, Omolara Ajetumobi; the Celebrant, Ogundare Olubunmi; the Musician, Ayodele Busuyi.

Others arrested are the Sound Engineer, Owoeye Adedayo and another Vendor, Akinola Akinkunmi

According to him, this created a significant disruption to traffic flow and violated environmental regulations.

These individuals will face charges in court in accordance with Lagos State laws.

Wahab further reiterated the government’s stance that no one is above the law.

He also emphasized that anyone found disregarding state regulations would face the full force of the law.

This act reinforces the Lagos State Government’s commitment to maintaining order and ensuring that public spaces are respected.
