Kaduna LG polls: 76 candidates screened to contest — KADSIECOM

The Chairman of the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM), Hajiya Muhammad, has announced that the commission has completed the screening of chairmanship and councillorship candidates from ten political parties for the upcoming Local Government elections in the state.

Addressing the media after the exercise, Muhammad described the screening as successful and pledged to conduct a smooth and problem-free election.

She noted the presence of representatives from the Police, DSS, NDLEA, and the Board of Internal Revenue Services during the screening, calling it a morale booster, and added that the stakeholders appeared ready for the process based on their engagement.

Muhammad urged the candidates to conduct themselves peacefully and orderly both before and during the elections to ensure a successful outcome.

She further explained that ten political parties, with a total of seventy-six contestants, participated in the screening conducted by KADSIECOM.

The Chairman added that the contestants submitted various documents, including proof of educational qualifications and tax payments.

She appealed to the people of Kaduna State to cooperate and support KADSIECOM, promising to conduct a free, fair, and credible election.
