ISPON Dissociates From Proposed Abuja Conference, Annual General Meeting 

ABUJA – The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) has disassociated itself from a proposed Conference and Annual General Meeting scheduled to hold in Abuja.

The Institute said this in a statement signed by its President, Engineer Timothy Iwuagwu in Abuja at the weekend.

The statement accused those behind the conference of acting in violation of order of competent jurisdiction restricting them from parading themselves as officials of the Institute.

 The statement also referenced the judgment of a Federal High Court Owerri in Suit No:FHC/OW/CS/73/2017, Federal High Court sitting in Port-Harcourt Suit No:FHC/PH/CS/121/2022 High Court Owerri in Suit No: HOW/993/2023 and FHC Umuahia in suit No: FHC/UM/CS/98/2017.

“In violation of the Institute of Safety Professionals in Nigeria Act 2014, Mr. Kaizer Ebiwari is unlawfully parading himself as President of the Institute despite not been elected into office. Chief Stephen Udezi is unlawfully parading himself as the deputy president of the Institute despite not been elected into office, while Mr. Benson Adam – Otite is unlawfully parading himself as Registrar despite the termination of his appointment since 2017.

The statement therefore called on the relevant authorities at the National Assembly to intervene in the matter and call them to order.
