Bayo is in love with a woman who enjoys the attention and luxury that wealthy, married men provide. Despite knowing this, he still admires her for her beauty, and over time, they’ve grown closer, even sharing a passionate kiss. Bayo is a businessman but doesn’t have a lot of money to lavish on someone. Now that their friendship has deepened, he believes she may be starting to develop feelings for him. Encouraged by this, he’s considering asking her to be his girlfriend.

“There is this girl that I like. She owns a cosmetic shop close to my shop where I sell clothes. She is very beautiful and chubby. She has a brown soft and succulent skin tone. And full lips. She doesn’t wear makeup, and I love her natural looks. She is a mature lady. At first when I saw her, I thought she was married, because she looked like one, and there was one black jeep that would often drop and pick her up at night.

“One day, I asked of her husband because I stopped seeing the jeep and she told me she was not married. It was her man-friend and they had broken up. I took the opportunity to express my feelings to her. She asked me if I had money to take care of her. She is the type that likes big boys with big doings. She had probably profiled me and concluded that I couldn’t afford her. I even noticed she and her friends made mockery of me. They called her my wife jokingly.

“Every evening, her girlfriends would come out. If any of their new catch asked one of them out, others would tag along. They were always going out after the close of work. I didn’t mind all that she was doing because I like her. Then we became very close. She would gist me some of the things she did with them. She doesn’t love them, she just enjoys hanging out with them, and they spend time with her. Sometimes they take her along on their trip to different states. She would come back with a gift for me.

“What I observed, I think she likes me but because I am not rich enough to give her that kind of lifestyle, she friend-zoned me. She enjoys my company. We gist about anything, but she doesn’t want any romantic relationship with me.

Recently, I noticed she likes coming to my shop often when my friends are not around. She would playfully sit on my lap. One of the days, I kissed her on her lips, and she allowed me. We had a passionate kiss. Unlike before, when she would brush me off and even insult me. I felt that she wanted me, I don’t know if she was just flirting with me or she truly wanted me. I don’t know if I should ask her to be my girlfriend.

Dear Bayo, aside from money, women often value attention and the assurance that you’re truly committed to them. So, if you don’t have money to spend on her, you can show your care by giving her your time and attention. However, if she enjoys dating married men, isn’t that a red flag to consider? Ultimately, the choice is yours. The key is to focus on what makes you happy. If she brings you happiness, go ahead and pursue her. But don’t invest all your heart—keep an open mind. That way, if things don’t work out, you’ll be less likely to feel deeply hurt.
