Former Plateau state governor, Senator Joshua Dariye, has expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the timber market traders in Katako over the fire disaster that recently engulfed their shops were goods and property worth billions of naira were lost.
Dariye in a commiseration message lamented about the unfortunate incident which he described as a setback to the traders, their businesses, the economy of the North Central state and the country at large.
He urged the traders not to despair but trust God for divine restoration.
The former Plateau state governor urged government at all level, non-governmental organisations and all well-meaning Nigerians, especially, NEMA, the Humanitarian Affairs ministry to come to the aid of the traders to re-establish their flourishing business.
He also admonished the traders to henceforth imbibe precautionary measures that would prevent future occurrence.
“The inferno that engulfed shops and property of traders at the popular Katako Jos North Local government Area of Plateau state is devastating and very unfortunate. It is important that the affected traders are assisted in order to go back to their businesses. I empathy with them and pray that such disaster will not be fall them again”
He also commiserated with the trader’s union officials, the executive chairman of the local government and the state government over the unfortunate incident.
