Committees Inaugurated For 2024 Osun Intercollegiate Games

In the overriding drive to actuate and effect an immersive, smooth and successful 2024 Osun Intercollegiate Games, Ace Sports, in collaboration with Osun Tertiary Institution Games Association(OSTIGA), has set up committees of variegated mandates to help steer various functions for the Games. 

The committees which are Technical, Accreditation and Venue, are composed of membership of seasoned academics from across participating tertiary institutions in the state, as well as astute sports administrators and technocrats with high deference to core expertise in each of the featuring sports, and also other administrators. 

The various committees and their respective membership are as follows: Technical Committee with members that include Alh. Adedokun Ganiyu of Fountain University, Osogbo, Chairman; Mr. Diran Alao of Adeleke University, Ede, member (Table Tennis Coordinator); Mrs. Okanlawo M.A. OSCOTECH, Esa-Oke, member (Scrabble Coordinator); Alhaja Bola Tijani of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, member (Chess Coordinator), and Coach Dare Owoeye of the Federal Polytechnic Ede, member (Athletics Coordinator).

Others are Olayiwola Olafiranye (ACE Sports); Yekini Ayodeji (ACE Sports) and Coach Kunle Sipebi of UNIOSUN, Osogbo (Football Coordinator).

The collective mandate of the committees is to ensure success of the forthcoming 2024 Osun Intercollegiate Games where fairplay, sportsmanship, genuine representation, adequate welfare and best sporting practices shall be brought to bear and be ticking over throughout the duration of the games. 

Dovetailing into this broad core is the micro mandate of each of the committees with meticulous selection criteria of savvy and competence to ensure that no effort is spared towards ensuring the competition achieves its desired purpose and turns out a toast of all.

The Team Lead of Ace Sports, Olayiwola Olafiranye, remarked that setting up the committees was a testament to the towering resolve of Ace Sports in organising a memorable Osun Intercollegiate Games where the true essence and purpose of the games shall be achieved and that going forward, every organisational aspect of it in need of smoothening out shall be tended to accordingly. 

It would be recalled that the 2024 Osun Intercollegiate Games is the inaugural edition of sporting competition involving tertiary institutions across the universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and monotechnics in Osun State and it is being organised by Ace Sports, in conjunction with Osun Tertiary Institution Games Association (OSTIGA).

The competition, which is slated for kickoff on November 20, 2024, would feature football, athletics, badminton, table tennis,  chess, scrabble and tug-of-war and to be hosted in four tertiary institution venues across the state.
