The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed officials from Togo and Morocco to oversee the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying matches between Nigeria and Ghana.
The first leg will take place on Sunday, 22nd December 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the second leg scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, 28th December 2024.
For the opening leg in Accra, Togolese official Aklesso Gnama will serve as the referee, with Jonathan Ahonto Koffi, Wassiou Tchamolla Ourotou, and Kossi Fabrice Senyo as assistant referees and fourth official.
Liberian Ivan Gator Brown will be the match commissioner, while Benin’s Hugues Alain Adjovi will assess the refereeing performance.
The return leg in Uyo will see Moroccan officials taking charge.
Hamza El Fariq will be the referee, assisted by Abdessamad Abertoune and Zakaria Bouchtaoui, with Hicham Temsamani as the fourth official.
Sierra Leone’s Prince Kai Saquee will act as commissioner, and Miboti Moise from the Democratic Republic of Congo will be the referee assessor.
The first leg in Accra will kick off at 4:00 PM local time (5:00 PM Nigerian time), while the return leg in Uyo will begin at 5:00 PM.
The aggregate winner of the two-legged tie will secure qualification for the 8th African Nations Championship finals, which will be held from 1st to 28th February 2025 in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
This tournament will also serve as a test-run for the host nations’ preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
