Actors’ Guild suspends actress Halima Abubakar

The Actor’s Guild  of Nigeria (AGN) has suspended Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar for allegedly spreading slanderous information about its members, associates and patrons.

The suspension of the thespian was made known in a statement issued by the AGN on Friday which noted th at Halima Abubakar was behind news of extra-marital affairs linked with highly placed individuals in the society emanating from the industry.

According to the statement, it was established that the actress was behind the slanderous information following thorough investigation by a panel set up to look into her activities.

“Following thorough investigation by the Special Secret Investigation Panel set up to conduct an internal underground secret investigation into the activities of some blogs/bloggers since 2022…

“After more two years of painstaking investigation, the panel found out that Miss Halima Abubakar was behind all the slanderous information of our members, associates and patrons especially news of extra-marital affairs linked with highly placed individuals in the society emanating from the industry.

“Halima Abubakar has been placed on indefinite suspension from the AGN and she will face the National Disciplinary Committee to determine her full punishment,” the statement read in part.
