ABUJA – The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has expressed gratitude to members of the National Assembly for their continued support of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

He made this known while flagging off road construction leading to the Judge’s quarters on Wednesday in Abuja.

Wike reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all districts in Abuja are connected by a network of good roads, a critical element in the city’s development.

“We are working tirelessly to ensure every district is connected. A city thrives on a strong network of roads,” Wike stated.

He emphasized the economic impact of infrastructure development, noting that the mere announcement of road projects has already driven up land prices by over 500%. “That’s what good roads can do,” he added, highlighting the potential boost in economic activities that will follow.

The Minister also assured contractors of prompt payments, underscoring the FCTA’s dedication to completing ongoing road projects by May 2025.

He acknowledged previous procurement challenges but expressed confidence in the contractors’ ability to meet the deadline.

“In line with President Tinubu’s directive, we are focused on providing essential infrastructure to existing districts before creating new ones.

We will not leave behind any abandoned projects or cause delays through variations,” Wike affirmed, stressing his administration’s commitment to timely and efficient project delivery for the benefit of Abuja residents.
