Why FHA Halts Construction Works In Gwarimpa, Apo Others

The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has declared the cessation of all construction operations, encompassing structural advancements and property development, within its estates situated in Gwarinpa, Apo, and Guzape in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a communiqué issued recently by the FHA’s Head of Public Affairs, Kenneth Chigelu, the suspension was justified by unauthorised alterations and breaches of endorsed architectural blueprints, such as the transformation of residential edifices into commercial establishments without proper authorisation.

“The administration of the Federal Housing Authority hereby proclaims the halting of all progress in its estates in Gwarinpa and Apo/Guzape, Abuja. This encompasses all construction, structural, and building advancements,” the statement articulated.

Chigelu articulated that the resolution is geared towards reinstating order and ensuring compliance with development control norms.

The FHA divulged that a reassessment of all construction permits within these estates will be carried out to authenticate conformity with the stipulated regulations and validate the legitimacy of granted approvals.
