A concerned mother has expressed frustration over the rising cost of non-reusable textbooks required for her children’s primary school education. She has called on other parents to join her in urging the federal government to intervene, citing the worsening economic situation across the country.
The mother shared her concerns on X (formerly known as Twitter), prompting responses from other users. Some even alleged that the situation is a scheme involving private school administrators and book publishers to exploit parents.

One user, Ayofe (@abdullahayofel), stated, “It is high time the federal government took action on this matter.”
Another user, Ezeh Jerry (@EzehJerry), suggested a solution, proposing that textbooks should be made transferable between students, while only workbooks remain for single-use.
Another user @MayGistv said ‘This mother has a valid point, which the Honourable Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, should look into ASAP’
Another user @Ayodele1son also said ‘You need to also remeber that book authors too have life, their intellectual property is the book, they only make money when large number of people buy their books, transferring books is not a good thing, it cut short the authors ability to get value for his/her hardworking’
