US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, on Thursday, explained the significance of democracy and the impending election, despite being interrupted by protesters in Reno, Nevada.
During her speech, Harris expressed frustration as mockers disrupted the event. “It’s OK. It’s OK. You know what, democracy can be complicated,” she replied.
While striving to redirect the audience’s focus to her message about the importance of free expression, she further said, “We’re fighting for the right for people to be heard and not jailed because they speak their minds. We know what’s at stake.”
As the noise grew louder, Harris found it challenging to maintain her narrative, stating, “Understand the difference here, moving forward, understand the difference here,” she said while advocating for unity and progress.
Emphasising the critical need for voter engagement, Harris encouraged Nevadans to make their voices count in the upcoming election. “You are going to make the difference in the outcome of this election, and I thank you,” she affirmed.
Tribune online recently reported that the vice president of the United States was also in Washington to address her supporters and that happened just two days before the rally at Nevada.
