Two Killed, APC Chairman, Others Abducted As Gunmen Raid Katsina Village

October 18, (THEWILL) – Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed two people, including a security operative attached to the Katsina State Government security outfit, Community Watch Corps (KSCWC).

The incident occurred on Friday, around 2 a.m., at Dan Auta village, in Sabuwa Local Government Area of the state.

Resistance from members of the KSCWC as well as local vigilante groups in the area, was overwhelmed by the large number of the invaders who stormed the community on motorcycles.

While about 13 persons including the Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) identified as Alhaji Imamu, were abducted, several others who sustained injuries are currently receiving treatment at the primary healthcare centre in the area.

The Katsina State Police Command has not issued any statement on the incident. Spokesperson for the Command, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, did not immediately respond to calls to his mobile number at the time of this report.
