‘Pure Joy!’ Nigerian fans on X rave about Wizkid’s Morayo

21 hours ago 3

Wizkid released his 6th studio album earlier today and the initial impression on the Nigerian social media scene is positive. The musician has been termed “Nigeria’s greatest export” in the past, so it is not surprising that his fans have hilariously praised the highly anticipated album.

The album’s title, Morayo—meaning “I see joy” in Yoruba—is a heartfelt dedication to his late mother, Juliana Morayo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023. Morayo arrives three years after his last album More Love, Less Ego

Reflecting on the project, Wizkid described it as his best work yet. “Best album I ever made!! Now listen! It’s only up from here!” he tweeted earlier in July 2024.

The full tracklist is as follows:

The album features tracks like Pray, Troubled Mind, Karamo, Kese (Dance), Bad Girl (featuring Asake), Time, Piece of My Heart (featuring Brent Faiyaz), Break Me Down, Bend, A Million Blessing, Après Minuit (featuring Tiakola), Bad For You (featuring Jazmine Sullivan), Soji, Don’t Care, Slow (featuring Anaïs), and Lose

Here are some of the most hilarious responses to Morayo’s release
