Presidency Calls On Nigerians To Promote Made in Nigeria Products At COP 29

As Nigeria prepares to join the global community at COP29, Nwabueze George, the National Coordinator and Executive Director, Made in Nigeria Project Office has affirmed that Nigeria’s pavilion and exhibition stand will showcase innovative solutions, policies, and initiatives that demonstrate the nation’s commitment to climate resilience and sustainable development.

Nwabueze, while addressing newsmen in Lagos on Wednesday on the World Climate Change Summit slated to hold in Baku Azerbaijan from November 11 to 22, said that the summit is an opportunity for organisations to showcase their commitment to climate action at the Nigerian Pavilion in the green zone.

He said that the objectives of Nigeria’s participation is to showcase Nigerian-made climate-friendly technologies and innovations, promote international partnerships and collaborations, demonstrate Nigeria’s progress towards achieving the Paris Agreement goals and foster knowledge sharing and expertise among Nigerian stakeholders.

He said that Nigeria’s exhibition stand will feature; interactive sessions with Nigerian climate experts and policymakers, display of Nigerian climate-friendly products and services, community-led climate initiatives, art and cultural exhibitions highlighting climate change impacts.

He thereby called on stakeholders including state government, private sector and all climate innovators to apply for side events and exhibition space at the Nigeria’s pavilion and exhibition stand at COP29.

“Let us work together to promote climate action, sustainable development, and a greener future for Nigeria and the world.”

Speaking further he said, “Made in Nigeria is not all about climate change, it is all about how we showcase and exhibit all other things we can get in Nigeria, it is an avenue to showcase and promote our indigenous products.”

Barr. Titi Akosa, Lagos State Coordinator, Made In Nigeria Project Office (MAiNPro) while speaking said that there will be a two week accreditation to access COP 29 events and free visa for successful applicants.

She said that the pavilion will host a panel discussion, workshop and showcase projects, research and innovations.

She noted that exhibitors would be able to display their organisation’s work and achievements and network with attendees and potential partners.

Akosa added that the opportunity is open to organisations, business and individuals working on climate related projects and that priority will be given to Nigerian entities.
