Portable, also known as the IKA of Africa has announced the upcoming release of an Extended Play Project titled “Chosen One.”

The eccentric artist known for his headline-grabbing antics and catchy tunes is timing this announcement to ride on the viral trend surrounding the Nigerian Pentecostal Church, Chosen Revival Ministries.

Over the last few days, several videos of astonishing testimonies of miracles from the church members have gone viral on social media. In their fashion, Nigerian netizens have made jokes and comments, while making a play on the bright and colourful attire that the church members adorn.

Tapping into this viral energy, Portable has crafted an EP that captures the essence of the trend. The cover art features him donning the church’s signature attire, signalling his homage to the ” Chosen One” movement.

In the teaser video shared by Portable on his Instagram page, there is an animated image of him wearing the bright jacket while the audio depicts his journey in Christianity.

He sings about how he has attended many churches including white garment ones. “You fit go cele, make you no turn celeb,” he sings. He also talks about how he has invested in building several churches, among others.

Portable is no stranger to using social media moments to inspire his music. In 2023, he released I Am Not a Prisoner following a brief stint in jail for an incident involving police.

Earlier this year, he dropped Brotherhood, a diss track aimed at socialite Bobrisky, and followed it up with Spiderman,” which humorously chronicled his attempt to escape arrest over a financial dispute regarding his luxury G Wagon Brabus.

With The Chosen, Portable once again proves that he knows how to ride the waves of current trends, ensuring his fans stay engaged and entertained.
