“We extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to everyone affected and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.”

A similar incident had happened in June when the team bus of a Nigerian Football Club, Doma United based in Nasarawa State was also involved in an accident along the Makurdi-Lafia Expressway in Benue.

It was gathered that the bus lost control and somersaulted several times along the expressway but no life was lost to the accident.

However, some of the players sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital, according to the club management at that time.
