NDE Set To Engage Unskilled Unemployed Youths In Edo

In line with the spirit of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu government, the Director General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), His Excellency, Silas Ali Agara, has drawn up a programme to engage 93,731 unskilled and unemployed persons across Nigeria.

According to the Edo State Coordinator of NDE, Mr Chibuzo Okoronkwo, the state has commenced the registration process for the recruitment of unskilled and unemployed persons across the 18 local government areas of the state.

He disclosed this to our correspondent in Benin, saying that the registration process for the recruitment exercise started on Monday October 21, 2024, while the training programme for the successful applicants will take three months.

The Edo state coordinator also disclosed that the NDE’s renewed hope employment initiative was in line with the spirit of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present federal government administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that the directorate will provide vocational, agricultural and entrepreneurial skills training with activities in the public works sector using over 30 different skill sets under the initiative

“This job creation initiative of the NDE is promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda and will provide start-up capital, equipment and
working tools at the end of the training while other participants will be linked to credit-granting institutions to access loans to commence medium or large scale businesses,” he said.

The Edo state coordinator however urged interested persons to log on to www.nde.gov.ng to create an account and register online with a valid email address, Passport Photograph and National Identity Number (NIN) or alternatively, contact the Edo State NDE office, located at 222 Upper Mission Road, Benin City for further assistance.

He also said that successful candidates will be contacted by the NDE office in the state for immediate deployment to training outlets.
