November 22, (THEWILL) – Member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly representing Yenagoa constituency 1, Hon. Chief Ayibanegiyefa Egba, has said the 22 years of work experience at the Isaac Jasper Boro College of Education (IJBCOE), prepared her for life as a legislator and service to humanity.

According to Hon. Egba, her work experience as a clerical officer, appointed in the year 2000 and rose to the rank of Lecturer in the Department of Nigerian Languages in the School of Humanities, till voluntarily retirement on the 5th of April, 2022 to join active politics, shaped her on the part of honour as a State legislator.

Hon. Chief Ayibanegiyefa Egba, who made this known on Thursday, during the luncheon in Yenagoa, with some of her work colleagues and members of the Isaac Jasper Boro College of Education (IJBCOE) Bayelsa State, said the contributions and encouragement by members of the IJBCOE community provided her with a good foundation on how to carry out the job as an Assembly member.

She told the gathering of the IJBCOE community, “You all know, Isaac Jasper Boro College of Education (IJBCOE) Bayelsa State, appointed me in the year 2000 as a clerical officer and I grew to the rank of Lecturer in the Department of Nigerian Languages in the School of Humanities.

“However, due to my desire to increase my services to our people, I voluntarily retired on the 5th of April, 2022, to join active politics and today, I am elected to represent the people of Yenagoa Constituency 1, in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

“Looking through the journey of life of our recent and distant past, I feel greatly delighted to say that my years of working with you have been a pleasure, that provided me with a clear guide on the part of honour. Your contributions and encouragement were awesome.

“The memories cannot be overemphasised. I sincerely appreciate the platforms you gave to me and how you helped to shape my life generally. Your platforms provided me with a good foundation on how to carry out my job as an assembly member. It gave me a guide on how to help bridge the gap between the past and present by promoting quality services to our people and the state in particular.

“It is on this basis that I am working in close cooperation with other members of the State Assembly and the Government as main partners for progress and development for our people. The results are visible in my achievements within my one and half years as a Member of Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

“Ladies and gentlemen, today’s event offers me the opportunity to sincerely appreciate every one of you who inspired, encouraged and supported me during those days of hard struggle. It is on this note that I want to say thank you once again and I hope to continue with you on the path of progress and development of ourselves and for our people.

“This occasion not only marks a new chapter in our lives but also signifies a renewed commitment to advancing Isaac Jasper Boro College of Education (IJBCOE), Bayelsa State and Nigeria at large.

“Of the truth, I am here today mainly to get ourselves to share with you and our distinguished guests the moments of joy and happiness that will be exciting and memorable. I am committed to aligning my future work programme with your priorities and expectations to ensure that we all pull our efforts together to achieve stronger results with our limited resources.”
