Nineteen-time Premier League champions, Liverpool, will welcome Chelsea to Anfield on Sunday, in the most anticipated fixture of the matchday eight. The Reds go into the match top of the table with 18 points from their first seven matches, while Chelsea sit fourth in the table.

Arne Slot has enjoyed an impressive start to his managerial career at Liverpool, with his only blip being a 1-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest in September. The Blues have also been impressive under their new manager, Enzo Maresca, amassing 14 points from a possible 21.

Chelsea suffered an embarrassing 4-1 defeat in the corresponding fixture last season and also lost the Carabao Cup Final to Liverpool at Wembley. The Blues are also winless in their last nine matches against Liverpool.

Providing the team update at his press conference on Friday, Slot said: “Alisson Becker is not with us for the upcoming weeks that’s clear. But we now have quite some issues with players coming back from their national teams and we can only judge that perfectly from today as it’s the first day they are all in.

“So let’s see after the session where everybody is. Alexis Mac Allister missed one game and played the second. Kostas Tsimikas missed the first game with England, and Wataru Endo was sick. So I can name them all. We’ve got a few issues going on but let’s wait and see where we are after today.”

This will be the first time Liverpool face a team in the top half of the table this season, and it promises to be an explosive encounter, as both sides are committed to attacking football. Tune in to catch the match live on DStv ch 203 and GOtv ch 65, at 4:30 pm on Sunday.

Arsenal will aim to keep tabs with the table toppers, when they visit Bournemouth, live on DStv ch 203 and GOtv ch 65 at 5:30 pm on Saturday. Meanwhile, Premier League defending champions, Manchester City, will travel to the Molineux Stadium, where they suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat last season. Wolves are currently bottom of the table with one point from seven matches. An away match after the international break tends to be tricky for the big teams, and City will hope to avoid another shock that could see them lose more ground in their title defense. The match will be broadcast live on DStv 203 and GOtv 65, at 2 pm on Sunday.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will also be in La Liga action this weekend. Real Madrid will travel to Celta Vigo, live on DStv ch 204 and GOtv ch 62, at 8 pm on Saturday. while Barcelona will host Kelechi Iheanacho’s Sevilla, live on the same channel on Sunday, at 8 pm.

Samuel Chukwueze is expected to be in Serie A action when AC Milan takes on Udinese at 5 pm on Saturday, live on DStv ch 208 and GOtv ch 64. Ballon d’Or and African Footballer of the Year nominee, Ademola Lookman will also be in Serie A action for Atalanta against Venezia on Sunday, at 2 pm, live on DStv ch 208 and GOtv ch 64.
