Kwara Gov Visits Bode Saadu, Directs Immediate Support For Flood Victims

The Nigeria Police |Force has said that with the introduction and embrace of the Electronic Central Motor Registry innovation aimed at revolutionising how vehicle information is verified and handled on the road, the issue of officers stopping to check papers on the road will be eliminated.

It said this is because officers will be equipped with cutting-edge tech to verify documents in realtime. The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who shared the development through a series of social media posts yesterday, highlighted the ease and efficiency of the “e-policing” innovation.

Adejobi said under the leadership of InspectorGeneral Olukayode Egbetokun, the Electronic Central Motor Registry system has been launched to make roads safer and the policing process smoother.

“If your vehicle is registered with the NPF ECMR and gets stolen, you can instantly flag it as stolen through your online profile,” the statement read. He said the system then alerts all field officers nationwide within seconds, improving the chances of swift recovery.

He also highlighted that one of the benefits of the E-CMR is the removal of paperwork. “No more stopping to check papers—our officers are equipped with cutting-edge tech to verify documents in real-time,” one of the tweets read.

Residents commended the governor for the visit, which they said again pointed to his commitment to the welfare of the people. He said: “We are here to commiserate with the people of Bode Saadu and make sure that everybody is okay and look at the causes of the flood,” he told reporters on the sideline of the visit.

“We have realised that with the major work going on with the dualisation of the Ilorin-Mokwa Road by the Federal Ministry of Works, they have built a temporary bypass. Somehow, there are some challenges around the bypass, which experts will look into.

That is the cause of the flooding. “The director of Highway Federal Ministry of Works and other experts are on their way here to find an immediate solution to the problem. We have also deployed the State Emergency Management Agency for some relief measures.”

The governor also appealed to residents of the state to always steer clear of setbacks, adding: “One of the major challenges we have nationwide is people not observing setbacks. It is a major problem. Half of the buildings wouldn’t have been affected if they had observed the right setbacks.
