Jigawa Tanker Inferno: Humanitarian Ministry Condoles with State Government, Families of Victims

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has expressed its condolences to the people of Jigawa State following the tragic petrol tanker explosion in Majiya town, Taura Local Government Area, which claimed the lives of 100 individuals and left dozens injured.

In a statement released by the Ministry’s Press and Public Relations Unit, the Federal Government conveyed its sympathies to the state governor, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, and the grieving families. The Ministry expressed its deep sorrow over the incident and prayed for peace and comfort for those affected.

“We are deeply saddened by the circumstance surrounding the tragic incident,” the statement read, “and we pray that Allah grants Alijanna Firdaus to the souls of the departed and a swift recovery to the injured.”

The Ministry also extended prayers for the families of the victims, asking God to give them the strength to endure their loss.

The Ministry further reassured the public that it is working with relevant stakeholders to manage the humanitarian crisis caused by the explosion. “We are liaising with all relevant stakeholders to address the humanitarian crises occasioned by the devastating incident,” the statement added.

The explosion, which occurred earlier this week, has sent shockwaves through the state, with both local and national leaders calling for increased safety measures to prevent such incidents from reoccurring.

Iliya Rhoda Ishaku, the Ministry’s Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, signed the statement on behalf of the Ministry.
