Ighodalo hail Oba of Benin at 71

The Peoples Democratic Party candidate in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, Asue Ighodalo, has sent warm felicitations to the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, on his 8th coronation anniversary.

In a letter he personally signed on Sunday, Ighodalo extolled the monarch’s sterling qualities, which he said have endeared him to all and sundry.

He said, “Your enduring efforts towards peace, social development, and progress have solidified your position not just as a custodian of our history, but as a transformative leader for present and future generations,” Ighodalo stated.

“Your Majesty, your rule has been characterized by a profound commitment to the preservation of our cherished cultural heritage; and an uncommon love for your people. Your enduring efforts towards peace, social development, and progress have solidified your position not just as a custodian of our history, but as a transformative leader for present and future generations.

“May this anniversary bring renewed vigour and divine favour upon you and the Kingdom. May you continue to be blessed with good health, long life, and the wisdom to guide the Benin Kingdom.

Also, the newly elected executive of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Edo State chapter, hailed the monarch on his 8th coronation anniversary and 71st birthday celebration, today.

NULGE in a statement by its president-elect, Comrade Clifford Daudu, hailed the monarch for his exemplary leadership and commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Benin kingdom.

“We, the members of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees including those who work directly at the royal palace, pledge our loyalty and support to His Royal Majesty. We appreciate his role in fostering unity, preservation of our culture, and development of the kingdom, as we pray and look forward to many more years of his enlightened reign,” the statement read.
