I’m A Chosen’ Phrase Nonsensical, Not Christian – Patrick Doyle

Nollywood actor, Patrick Doyle, has criticised the trending phrase “I am a Chosen”, commonly used by The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries’ members.

New Telegraph recalls that the Lord’s Chosen Members have been making headlines over their controversial testimony from the church.

In a post via his Facebook page, the thespian actor described the trending phrase as “nonsensical”, saying it is not a Christian doctrine.

He said: “The phrase ‘I am a Chosen,’ used by members of the religious sect called ‘Chosen,’ should never be connected to the Body of Christ.

“The members of this sect don’t have Jesus in mind when chanting the phrase. Their adoration is unequivocally directed at a man, their GO. The phrase does not mention or imply Jesus in any way.

“To infer that the nonsensical phrase is connected to giving glory to the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, is to make a mockery of our faith.

“Content creators and bloggers using the phrase are not mocking the Church of God but the sect and its founder.”

It would be recalled that Nollywood actor, IK Ogbonna had a few days ago called on the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), to tackle the issue of “fake miracles” in churches.

Other celebrities who have also reacted to the trending phrase include actress Kemi Lala Akindoju, who criticised the church’s doctrine.

In its reaction to the “I am a Chosen” phrase, CAN had condemned the viral testimony of a congregant who claimed “an angel” provided answers to her during an examination.
