A support group, under the aegis of Progressive Youth’s For Makinde’s Presidency 2027, has hailed the Oyo Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his transformative strides in areas of healthcare, education, social amenities, agriculture, and security, saying that his leadership had not only transformed the state but had also laid down a model of governance that is both progressive and inclusive.
The support group said this in an open letter written to the governor and signed by its National Convener, Prince Christopher Odianarewo, noting that Makinde’s tenure had been marked by monumental achievements in those key sectors across key sectors, enough to qualify him for the presidency of Nigeria in 2027.
According to the group, the successes recorded in health, education, social amenities, agriculture, and security sectors by Governor Makinde’s administration were not mere policies, but were the bedrock of a prosperous society, saying that the governor had demonstrated a commitment that was both inspiring and effective.
The support group said Makinde’s administration had in health sector prioritised accessible healthcare for all citizens and ensured renovation of hospitals and clinics, pointing out that the investment in medical personnel training, among others were all testaments to its dedication to improving the quality of life for the people of Oyo.
“Your response to health emergencies, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, showcased exemplary leadership and a proactive approach that has saved innumerable lives.
“In education, the strides you have made in building infrastructural facilities and improving the curriculum are commendable. By elevating educational standards, you are empowering the youth and preparing them to compete on both national and global platforms. Your drive to provide scholarships and support programs for talented students demonstrates a commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders in Nigeria.
“Moreover, your focus on enhancing social amenities has created an improved living environment, making the day-to-day experiences of citizens more enjoyable. From the rehabilitation of roads to the provision of clean water, your administration has been dedicated to uplifting the quality of life for all Oyo residents,” the letter read.
“In agriculture, your initiatives to boost local production and support farmers have not only strengthened food security but have also provided employment opportunities and stimulated economic growth. These efforts are pivotal in establishing a sustainable future for Oyo State state and Nigeria.
“Lastly, your commitment to security is vital in today’s world. The empowerment of local security outfits and the fostering of community policing strategies under your administration have instilled a sense of safety and trust within the communities in Oyo State,” it added.
The support group said given these monumental achievements Governor Makinde had recorded in the state, since coming into office, it was clear that he possessed the vision, dedication, and capability necessary for the topmost office of president of Nigeria, come 2027.
The group, therefore, affirmed its ready support for Makinde in his endeavour to bring his exceptional leadership qualities to the national stage, expressing the belief that “with his guidance, Nigeria can transit into a new era of prosperity, equity, and security.”
