BENIN – Members of the G-WIN support group, led by Mr. Godwin Ovu, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s Secretariat on Airport Road, Benin City.
During the visit, the group’s coordinator Mr Godwin Ovu, congratulated the Chairman and his new team on their appointments. He highlighted the significant contributions the Chairman has made to the PDP, particularly noting that under his leadership, the party entered government for the first time in 2020 after being in opposition for over 12 years.
Additionally, he praised Dr. Tony Aziegbemi’s leadership for securing a majority in the State House of Assembly for the first time in 16 years. The coordinator expressed gratitude for the Chairman’s service, dedication and resilience.
Furthermore, he reaffirmed the group’s continued support and solidarity with the PDP, especially in light of the recent senseless attacks on the State Secretariat by APC thugs.
He expressed his confidence that the tribunal will do the right thing by returning the stolen mandate freely given by Edo people during the governorship elections of September 21, 2024. “Its only a matter of time before you bag your hat trick of election successes,” Ovu concluded.
The caretaker committee chairman Dr. Tony Aziegbemi appreciated the group and thanked them for the visit.
He also acknowledged their enthusiasm and commitment to the party and reassured them that “our mandate will be retrieved.”
