Flood: Borno Govt Gives Update On Donations For Maiduguri Relief Fund

September 19, (THEWILL) – The Borno State Government has given an update on the pledges and donations to the Maiduguri Relief Fund for victims of the recent flood disaster in the state.

This was contained in a statement issued by the SSA on New Media to the Borno State Governor, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the update comprised pledges and actual receipts of donations and support to the Borno State Government from corporate entities, state governments, state and national assembly members, individuals, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

The donors include: Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote; Business Mogul, Aminu Danata; 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi; his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Atiku Abubakar; eight states of the federation and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) among others.

“Kindly note that not all amounts listed were credited to the Maiduguri Relief Fund for the Borno State Government. Similarly, details of the redeemed pledges of donations and material support will be announced in due course,” the statement added.
