Expulsion: Fayose’s aide tackles Ekiti PDP caretaker chairman

An aide to  Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, Lere Olayinka, has dismissed the reported recommendations for the expulsion of his principal from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

The caretaker committee chairman of Ekiti PDP, Dare Adeleke had, at the weekend, disclosed that it has recommended the expulsion of Fayose to the disciplinary committee and the National Working Committee (NWC).

Reacting in a statement on Monday, Olayinka described the development as “a political comedy by a committee led by a man with penchants for overpricing and over-bloating himself.”

He challenged the committee to go ahead with the expulsion of Fayose, rather than recommending it to the NWC of the party.

He queried: “What are they waiting for? They should just go ahead and expel  Fayose from the party since they now have powers of life and death. After all, their own caretaker has so much power that it can change the structure of a house it is managing for the owners,” Olayinka said.

“So, Fayose should no longer have his own life and take his own decisions when the Caretaker Committee chairman, Dare Adeleke was boasting everywhere that his assignment was to remove Fayose from Ekiti PDP and that he has done that successfully?”

Part of the statement read: “The composition of the caretaker committee excluded Fayose and his people, we did not complain. We only said for every action, counter actions should be expected.

“Dare Adeleke constituted Local Government Caretaker Committee, which has no place in the Constitution of the PDP and excluded Fayose and his people, we did not complain.

“They were holding meetings up and down, boasting that they have removed Fayose from the PDP in Ekiti State, we still did not complain.

“So, what exactly do they want from Fayose?

“Or when you barred a man from coming to your house, the man does not have right to go to the house of those who are willing to give him red carpet reception?

“Since he is done with his assignment of taking Fayose out of Ekiti PDP, shouldn’t Dare Adeleke just go back to his Ibadan and return to Ekiti in 2026 to vote for the PDP?

Or they still want to be the ones to determine who Fayose associates with, what he says and does not say?
