#EdoGuber2024: Enabulele (Accord Party) Records Zero Vote In His Voting Unit

. Accuses INEC Of System Manipulation, High Level Corruption

BENIN – Dr. Bright Enabulele, the governorship candidate of Accord Party, who scored zero vote after voting in his polling unit on live television has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of system manipulation and high-level corruption in the just-concluded Edo governorship election.

He described the September 21 2024 election as the most corrupt election in Nigeria’s political history.

Enabulele’s accusation center around alleged manipulation of the system and the results during Saturday’s election, which he said undermined the democratic process.

Reacting to the conduct of the election at a press conference in Benin, Enabulele highlighted his experience at his polling unit, Ward 5, Unit 1, St Saviour Ivbiyeneva Primary School in the Ikpoba/Okha local government area which he said was awful.

According to Enabulele, despite voting on live television and being confident of securing hundreds of votes, the official results recorded zero votes for him.

“My vote was recorded zero despite voting in my unit on live TV and the results in my unit where I cast my vote showed zero vote for the Accord Party during counting.

“How can my party record zero vote when I voted for myself and some of my family members voted for me?”; he questioned.

He expressed dismay over what he described as “glaring discrepancy”.

“An election that I am a candidate, and my vote did not count. In other words, my vote disappeared, that alone shows that the election results as declared by INEC are not credible or authentic.”

While criticising the entire electoral process, he asserted that without proper safeguards, credible outcomes cannot be achieved.

“The only way to produce a credible winner is to have an electoral system without human interference, and in my opinion blockchain is the answer. BVAS was not used at all,” he insisted.

Enabulele threatened to take legal action against INEC for what he termed “inconsistency and corruption,” demanding accountability for the alleged electoral misconduct.

Enabulele said his accusation against INEC raised serious concerns about the integrity of the electoral process that took place in Edo State election.

He however called for full investigation into INEC’s conduct during the elections.

While maintaining that only elections without human interference can give Nigerians the leaders they truly wanted, Enabulele insisted that to have a credible process, results should be counted and transmitted on the spot.

“Our people will continue to suffer if we don’t have this mechanism in place. God bless Edo State and Nigeria,” he said.
