#EdoGuber: Heavy Security Presence Noticed As Residents Prepare To Cast Votes

As Edo State residents prepare to cast their votes ahead of today’s governorship election, there is heavy presence of police personnel in Benin, the state capital.

According to news monitored by SATURDAY INDEPENDENT on live coverage of the elections in the state by TVC News, a combination of military, Police and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps were seen manning various checkpoints across the state.

While commercial transporters sort to make brisk business in the early hours of the morning, their activities have since been ended by security personnel who turned them back as residents await at their various polling units as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) staff to commence voting.
