Courteville Business Solutions Group Graduates 25 Middle Management Trainees

LAGOS – Courteville Business Solutions PLC has successfully trained twenty-five New Middle Management Training Cadre of the Company over a nine months duration in a Capacity Development Programme designed to prepare them for the challenges of job and macro economic environment.

At the special graduation ceremony held on Tuesday, 26 November, at the Company’s premises in Sabo, Yaba, the best graduating staffers were given certificates, recognition and awards for their performances.

In his remark, Dr. Bola Akindele, the Group Managing Director / CEO of the Company, revealed that this is the fifth set of graduands trained under the Middle Management Training Programme of the company, a programme that was intentionally created to accelerate career development of the trainees for better performance not only on the job but also in other aspects of life.

He said, “As a company, we realised very early that there was a huge gap in knowledge and experience for those younger staff to occupy Middle Management positions in the organisation, so we decided on providing the requisite training that will adequately prepare them for the higher responsibilities.

“In addition, we designed the trainings that the graduates are exposed to, so that they are adequately prepared for the roles within our organisation but also for greater roles in other businesses, Companies and other life expectations.”

In addition, he emphasize that, “we bring experts in various fields to facilitate these trainings and to enrich the course modules, broadening their knowledge on so many areas that we know will be useful for them in life”.

Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti, the Pro-Chancellor of Summit University, Offa Kwara State and the Chairman of the graduation ceremony, commended Courteville for providing such high powered trainings to their staff without any attachments to it, describing it a rare opportunity that staff hardly find with many employers.

He reiterated that education has gone beyond acquiring knowledge, but the acquisition of technical skills, saying, “in this part of the world, we are far behind in technology hence the need to identify new areas and make technology a focus for training and development.

The world is not waiting for us as they have advanced in technological skills, while we have no choice than to be technologically literate, which Courteville as a company provides”.
He reemphasize the need to inculcate technical skills, vocational training, the use of computer and technology in driving knowledge and deliveries of integrated education in Nigeria.

Dr. Muda Yusuf, Chief Executive Officer, Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprises and the Keynote Speaker, spoke on; ‘Managing The Business and Social Impact of Economic Reforms:Review of Current Reforms and Social Vulnerabilities’; he started by saying, “for businesses to survive the present harsh economic reforms, business owners must take the primary responsibility of navigating through the murky waters and finding strategies to scale through.

“The strategies could be economic, social or political. It’s people that make things happen, you may not have the money but you leverage on relationships which money sometimes cannot buy.”

He went on to stress on the importance of technology, which he described as the future of the world and the ability to leverage on it, is a a big opportunity for greater achievement. The type of training Courteville is offering provides the connect between the academics and the realities of the business world, stating, “the best academic graduates may not necessarily be the best in the business world, but with training such as this, it becomes easier to win in the business world.”

Alhaji Wale Sonaike, the Deputy Managing Director, while responding to questions from DAILY INDEPENDENT, said, to qualify for the training, the trainees must be a graduate employees of the Company, who must have passed through the preliminary employment stage and are thereafter subjected to the intensive management training in preparation for Middle Management positions and to prepare them for the rigours and dynamics of the business world.

According to Alhaji Sonaike, “The training exposes them to the various areas of management including but not limited to: Business Management and Law of Contract, Business Communication Skills, Emotional Intelligence and Self Development, Financial Literacy, Cost and Management Accounting, Emotional Intelligence, Seld Development, Economic Analysis, Internal Control and Risk Management, Research Methodology Business Innovation, Critical and Creative Thinking, Human Capital,Talent Management and Performance Management and Leadership in the 21st Century, Entrepreneurialship, Intrapreneurship and Ideation and Date Analytics of Blockchain Technology.

“We of course rewards the best three candidates while we also give Certificates and recognitions to the graduates of the programme who excelled in the various subjects taught and or assessment tests taken for the various courses undertaken.”

Our training program is only comparable to what is obtained in Business Schools across the globe and therefore, we believe are staff can fit into any system with a short periods and even go ahead and start creation of wealth by themselves.
