Corps Member Donates Classrooms To Ogun School

In a remarkable display of selflessness and commitment to community development Service, Corps Member Ogunsola Elizabeth Ayoduni, with NYSC Code Number OG/23C/2683, has constructed and donated a block of two classrooms to OLG Nursery and Primary School, Egbeda Village, Odeda Local Government Area, Ogun State.

The classroom block was commissioned on Tuesday by the Ogun State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator, Mrs. Olayinka Diana Nasamu, represented by Mrs. Abosede Adegasoye.

The Coordinator praised Corps Member Ogunsola for her dedication and hard work in identifying and addressing the need for more learning spaces in the village.

The project, completed under the NYSC’s Community Development Service (CDS) initiative, was described as a testament to the positive impact Corps Members can make in their host communities.

“This project is a shining example of the dedication and commitment to community development that the National Youth Service Corps inspires in our young men and women,” Mrs. Nasamu’s speech read.

She further encouraged other Corps members to emulate Elizabeth’s example of selflessness and community service, emphasizing the importance of making lasting contributions through the CDS programme.

The Baale of Egbeda Village, Chief Oluwasegun Otegbeye expressed his deep appreciation, describing Miss Elizabeth as “God-sent” and commending the NYSC for inspiring such acts of service.

He noted that the new classrooms would greatly enhance the learning experience for the pupils of OLG Nursery and Primary School.

In her remarks, Corps Member Ogunsola revealed that the sight of children receiving lessons under a tree motivated her to embark on the project.

Despite facing financial challenges, her determination to make a difference in the community saw her through to the completion of the classrooms.

Mrs. Nasamu called on community leaders and philanthropists to continue supporting Corps members in their community development efforts, stating that their assistance is crucial in empowering young people to contribute meaningfully to society.

The commissioning ceremony was well attended by community members, school authorities, and local leaders, who lauded the initiative as a beacon of hope for the future of the village’s children.
