Bobrisky In Viral Post Alleges That EFCC Arrested Him

Okuneye Idris, better known on social media as Bobrisky, has allegedly been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had detained him.

This came after a widely shared video on X revealed that he had been removed from a KLM flight headed for Amsterdam on Thursday night.

The brother of the former governor of Ekiti State, social commentator Isaac Fayose, posted a picture of himself and Bobrisky on the same flight to London on Thursday.

“Look who’s on the same flight with me to London, @Bobrisky222,” Fayose shared on his Instagram handle.

The well-known crossdresser informed his fans of the situation on his Instagram profile after being forcibly removed.

Bobrisky said that the arrest was due to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

He wrote, “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”

The latest development comes after he was intercepted at the Sème border while allegedly attempting to flee the country on 22 October.

After an audio tape leaked in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed he was allowed to serve his six-month imprisonment sentence outside of Kirikiri prison because of “influential connections,” the crossdresser has become the subject of an investigation.

EFCC Public Affairs Director Wilson Uwajaren revealed on Thursday that the inquiry into the claims made by controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, was still ongoing.

While listing the commission’s accomplishments under Ola Olukoyede, Uwujaren warned that if the accusations against the EFCC are untrue, he might be charged again by the commission.

The EFCC established a committee to look into the incident even though it refuted the accusations.
Uwujaren gave an update, saying that in addition to bringing false accusations against the EFCC, one could face charges for providing the commission with misleading information.

He said, “There is a portion of the EFCC Act that states if you give false information, you can be tried, but in his case, it is an allegation against the agency. I don’t want to preempt the panel investigating the matter. Once we are through with the investigation, we willp definitely brief you on the outcome.”
