Anambra Information Commissioner Says Soludo’s Achievements Are Underreported 

AWKA – The newly appointed Commissioner for information in Anambra State, Dr. Law Mefor, has expressed worry that the achievements of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo are underrepresented considering the laudable achievements of the Governor in the last Barely three years.

Mefor, who received members of Correspondents’ Chapel in his office as he hit the ground running in just two days said the governor in less than three years of his administration had performed tremendously beyond some other governors in their second tenure.

He highlighted numerous giant strides of the current government, including road infrastructure and solicited for collaboration with the Chapel to ensure a better robust, fair and full reportage of the state.

“Mr Governor has a solid blueprint for Anambra’s growth but I believe that Soludo’s achievements have not been fully presented. These achievements need more publicity and feedbacks.

“This is a government within two years, have awarded over 400 roads and completed more than 250 of them, yet without borrowing. He’s competing with other governors that are in second tenure 

“I believe in Soludo and my reasons are obvious. His political journey started in 2009 and I’ve been with him since then. He has made name and money so he’s not here to chase clout.

“He told me he wants to rebuild Anambra and his blueprint is strategic. When we were presenting him to Nigeria for President, he said he needed to start with his state. 

“The governor’s reputation resonates globally, and we must leverage this to attract investment and development. Anambra is truly the Light of the Nation. We have a rich heritage, and it’s time to showcase our successes.

“We must publicize Mr Governor’s efforts to showcase the state’s potential, including embarking on project tour”.

He added that the media is his primary constituency and desires to work with correspondents. “So, please, come along on this journey with me. I’ll be the bridge between you and government”, he said.

Responding, the Chairman of Correspondents’ Chapel, Mr Chuks Ilozue, represented by his vice, Mrs Nkeiru Nwagbo, congratulated the Commissioner on his new appointment, and assured him of  robust partnership.
