According to him, the move will ensure quality news contents and enable reporters and editors move in tandem
with the current trend of the journalism profession.

He said “we want to reposition NAN and we are really serious about it; NAN is the largest content provider in Africa
and we must be seen moving with the current trend.

“So, we will prioritise training and retraining of reporters and editors, both locally and internationally.

“Journalism is shifting from the old style, we can’t continue with the conservative style of reportage; we must update
our knowledge and style of reporting to accommodate current realities.”

Ali also said that the agency would leverage on wire services, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other digital technologies to
provide quality services.

He tasked reporters and editors to be more committed, dedicated and willing to add value to the agency by conducting themselves
in a professional manner at all times.

The managing director explained that his visit to Jos was to assess and have first hand information about the state of things at the zonal office.

Earlier, the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of the agency, Mr Ephraims Sheyin, called on reporters to closely work with the Marketing Officers
toward generating more revenue for the agency to thrive.

He also charged reporters to do more in reporting court and human angle stories, which he said would largely be exclusive to NAN.

The Jos Zonal Manager of the agency, Mrs Nyisome Dore, who pledged total loyalty, thanked the managing director and other management
staff for the visit.(NAN)(
