Afenifere, Reps Speaker felicitate Ooni Ogunwusi on 50th birthday

THE pan-Yoruba socio-polit-ical organisation, Afenifere, has felicitated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye En-itan Ogunwusi, on his 50th birthday.

In a statement by its leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Af-enifere said it wished Oba Ogunwusi happy birthday and prayed for him for long, healthy life and a peaceful reign.

In the statement also endorsed by Oba Oladipo Olaitan, the deputy leader and Prince Justice Faloye, the National Publicity Secretary, the group said: “We wish you a great year and a fulfilling prosperous decade ahead.

“May we continue to enjoy your peaceful, equitable and progressive reign of the Odu-duwa.”
Also, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Tajudeen Abbas, on Friday congratulated the Ooni.

Speaker Abbas described Oba Ogunwusi, the co-chair-man of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) as a unifier and bridge-builder in the country.

While commending the monarch for fostering unity in not just Yorubaland but across the country, the Speaker noted the roles that traditional rulers like Oba Ogunwusi are playing to ensure peace and progress in Nigeria.

He used the occasion to urge the Ooni to continue to champion good causes towards growth and development of the country.

Speaker Abbas prayed to God to grant Oba Ogunwusi more years of peaceful reign, and the grace to serve the country more.
